Cavus Reconstruction
This kind of disorder is characterized by a high arch, constructed digits and instability of the foot and distal aspect of the leg muscle. Weakness and atrophy is common in cavus foot with a neurologic component.
The most common form of cavus foot requires bracing or surgery to provide a stable limb and prevention of pain and deterioration of other joints.
Procedures involving cavus foot reconstruction consist of osteotomies in the calcaneus or mid-foot with or without a tendon-transfer.
The goal of the reconstructive procedure is to lower the height of the arch and provide a more stable leg for ambulation.
Case Presentation: Patient with neurologic cavus foot deformity, symptoms are instability and weakness of the extremity.
Outcome: Stable limb with proper anatomical alignment for better ambulation.
